WELCOME TO 2024’S NEW GOLF SCHOLARS
AS THE GOLFING SEASON GETS UNDERWAY, WE ARE DELIGHTED WELCOME FOUR NEW GOLF SCHOLARS TO THE FOUNDATION.
Four aspiring young golfers have been invited to join the Club’s Foundation. As a Scholar, they will be allocated a dedicated Professional who will provide coaching throughout the years. They will have full access to a busy calendar of golf events and the opportunity to represent Wentworth Club in external competitions. Throughout their time in the programme the Foundation will provide support on and off the courses with professional advice and guidance as they progress through their golfing journey.
On Saturday, 27th January the new Scholars were invited to the Club for their induction session, whereby they got to meet the Trustees and their Coaches. We look forward to championing this year’s new joiners as we watch them develop their skills and are excited to see what the future holds for them.
Welcome Ethan, Harry, Joshua and Violet.
Harry Barclay: Harry has been playing Golf for four years and is very excited to broaden his horizons by meeting lots of new people at Wentworth. Off the course Harry plays Cricket, Tennis and Football, being a huge Arsenal fan and attending most home games! He has fond memories of attending the BMW PGA Championship over the last few years and is looking forward to familiarising himself with the other courses, learning to play them the right way.
Joshua Pirie: Joshua has been playing Golf for eight months and already has a handicap! He is very excited to start his journey at Wentworth, meet new people and have the opportunity to play a world class golf club. Joshua thrives at school with his favourite subjects being Biology and English Language as well as having a passion for running and music. With help from his new Coach he cannot wait to start improving his Golf and aims to get his handicap down to 10 by the end of the year.
Violet Webb: Violet has been playing Golf for five years and is now looking forward to engaging with all of her fellow Scholars and Members. Currently playing off 19.6, Violet cannot wait to get started with her new coach as she looks toward having her best season yet. Last year she was awarded most improved Junior Golfer but this year violet looks to better her game as much as ever and push herself to lower her handicap.
Ethan Coetzer: Ethan has been playing Golf for five years and is looking forward to new coaching and networking opportunities as well as playing the three courses. His favourite golfing memory was making a hole-in-one at only 10-years old! Ethan’s love for sport goes beyond the golf course with his favourite subject at school being Physical Education, where he can practise the other sports that he has a passion for, Rugby and Cricket. This year Ethan looks to push himself even further to achieve a single figure handicap.
