THE WELSH WOMEN’S OPEN STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
CONGRATULATIONS TO MILLIE AND AVA
We are very proud to announce that two of our scholars, Ava Bates and Millie Cottrell played in The Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship between 5th – 7th May at the Prestatyn Golf Club.
The Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship is the women’s national amateur stroke play golf championship of Wales. It was first played in 1976 and is currently organised by Wales Golf. Annually consisting of some of the best amateur female golfers in the country with a handicap no greater than 6.4
Ava finished -1 with impressive rounds of 73/75/73 at T16 and Millie finished +11 with rounds of 81/77/75 at T39. There were 60 in the field. Millie did well to hold it together after Friday and Ava had her chances on the Sunday. The field was a strong one with the top players all in their twenties with wins at this level under their belt.
Another fabulous showing for our two scholars as they start to play on the national stage. Well done ladies.
