THE MALCOLM WALKER AWARD 2023
Congratulations to Scholars Ava Bates and Reggie Fear for jointly winning this year’s Malcolm Walker Award.
Both Ava and Reggie have had an incredible year on and off the Course and the award highlights their progress, achievements and commitment to the game of golf.
Reggie has had an impressive season this year. With seven wins to his name and being a part of a variety of Wentworth Men’s Teams, 2023 will certainly be a year to remember. After joining the Foundation in 2017, Reggie quickly immersed himself with Wentworth life and became a familiar face around the Club. This year he became our Junior Club Champion and is currently the London Amateur Foursomes Champion. A respected figure around the Club with a great golfing career ahead of him. Well done Reggie.
Ava has been a Scholar since 2019 and has had quite the golfing career at Wentworth. Spending her time competing in Junior and Ladies Teams, Ava is an extremely valuable asset to the Club. Whether it is in the Gym, on the Range or out on the Course, Ava enjoys every aspect of Club life and is a great role model to every Scholar. This year Ava won the Ladies Club Championship, as well as playing in the Rose Ladies Series, a milestone achievement that will hopefully be the first of many professional tournaments in her career. Congratulations Ava.
We were delighted to have had Patsy Walker join us at Wentworth’s End of Year Prizegiving Ceremony to present the award in honour of her late husband, Malcolm Walker.
