What is the Wentworth Foundation?

Founded in 1991 by legendary golf professional Bernard Gallacher.
The Wentworth Golf and Tennis Foundation is the charity of the renowned Wentworth Club. The Foundation is deeply committed to supporting youth development within our local community through dedicated outreach and educational programmes, particularly in local schools. Leveraging the infrastructure, expertise, and support of the Club’s employees and members, we provide professional coaching, mentorship, and competitive opportunities in both tennis and golf. These programmes not only foster athletic growth but also help young people develop valuable life skills to push Juniors towards their full potential.
The foundation values
The Foundation supports Golf and Tennis Scholarships at Wentworth Club for local school children as well as a Tennis Outreach programme which brings tennis to the local schools in the heart our community.

“It’s about putting something worthwhile back into the local community and giving young people the opportunity, they might not otherwise have had to follow their dreams”.

Building upon the foundations
Wentworth’s owners Reignwood Group remain dedicated to building upon the existing work of the Foundation and driving forward its commitment to protect the legacy of golf and tennis for future generations.

“Great organisations contribute to the communities in which they operate. The Wentworth Foundation is our commitment to that principle, using the power of sport to create opportunities, invest in education, and support initiatives that make a real difference. Through direct donations to local causes and the mentorship of young scholars, we are shaping futures and building a legacy that extends far beyond the fairways.”
